A huge congratulations to Reza Moazed, honoured as the Saskatoon Engineering Society’s 2024 Engineer of the Year! 🎉 Members of our team attended the SES AGM for Reza’s lecture on September 26th and for the presentation of this award.
This prestigious award celebrates Reza’s remarkable achievements and his dedication to both the engineering profession and the community. Selected by the SES Awards Committee, the recognition is based on excellence in three key areas:
• Exceptional Engineering Accomplishments
• Commitment to Public Education and Active Involvement in Engineering Associations
• Outstanding Service to the Community
Reza possesses almost 20 years of experience in the heavy industrial sector including mining, utilities, oil and gas, as well as manufacturing and agricultural machinery. Equipped with a combination of management, technical and communication skills, he has successfully completed projects exceeding $3 Billion in roles such as Project Manager, Engineering Manager and Technical Lead. His project experience ranges from feasibility studies to detail engineering, construction and commissioning.
Reza is a proactive individual who is always eager to make a positive impact. He pays it forward to his alma mater, the University of Saskatchewan, by instructing courses and guiding the next generation of talented minds. He also supervises M.Sc. and Ph.D. graduate students, and has ongoing research collaborations with faculty members at the University of British Columbia, Concordia University, and the University of New South Wales in Australia
Reza has published numerous papers on composite structures, time-dependent materials (creep), fatigue, vibrations, finite element modeling, stress analysis, manufacturing, and industrial design. He has presented and published his research work in international journals and conference proceedings (ASME, IEEE, IMECE).
We proudly celebrate Reza’s well-deserved recognition, as he joins the distinguished ranks of fellow March awardees President & CEO Ritu Malhotra who was honored in 2020, and Director of Clean Energy Systems, Lesley McGilp, the 2022 recipient. March appears to be the only local engineering firm to boast three SES Engineers of the Year recipients – an exclusive achievement that speaks volumes about March’s culture of excellence. March continues to set the standard for innovation and leadership in the engineering community. Thank you to the SES for recognizing Reza’s contributions to the profession with this honor.
