Tisdale Concrete Pad Inspection and Assessment - Crop Production Services
Crop Production Services requested that March perform an inspection of a concrete pad on their site that was hit with rain prior to the concrete being set, causing pits in the concrete. These pits were analyzed to determine if the pits have compromised the integrity of the concrete pad. During the assessment, it was found that most of the pitting on the pad was inconsequential, however, at the attachment points the pad may not be level and therefore could potentially increase stresses on the bin walls. A recommendation was made to level out the concrete pad around the entire circumference of the bin walls. Levelling out the concrete pad would also ensure that water would not accumulate in the pits, which would cause damage to the concrete slab in the freeze-thaw cycle.
